Elementary

Grades 1-5

Being a parent of a rising elementary schooler brings a host of thoughts and emotions. You’re excited and hopeful — but also anxious to get things right. You know that these early foundational years will set the stage for them to thrive in learning, growing, and unlocking their potential. As a parent, you’re looking for a school that will…

Recognize your child’s unique gifts and talents.
Build their faith and deepen their understanding of God.
Challenge and inspire your child in academic excellence.

At East Hill Christian School, we’ve purposefully designed our elementary school program to focus on these things and more. Learning Environment

Cultivating a safe, Christ-centered environment where your child can grow

As a parent, you know that your child’s learning environment matters. More than just finding any school, your child needs a community immersed in God’s Truth — helping them understand the world in light of His Word. You’re looking for a school that will equip your child to thrive academically, while developing their character to persevere and succeed. East Hill Christian School’s elementary program provides a learning environment that will:

Make your child feel seen and known

Our class sizes are kept small (15-24 students per teacher), allowing teachers to recognize each child’s unique learning styles and areas for improvement.

Integrate your child’s distinct background

EHCS prioritizes a strong partnership with parents. We discover more about your child through open communication with families, events, and parent volunteer opportunities.

Teach God’s Truth

The Bible is central to our school culture and curriculum. Chapel, Scripture reading, and lessons introduce a biblical worldview that lays the pathway for elementary schoolers to grow spiritually in knowledge and character.

Emphasize safety

We implement safety by keeping our classrooms free from physical hazards with age-appropriate tools, furniture, and electronics. The teachers at EHCS model values such as kindness, respect, and caring for others, to help foster an environment where students feel emotionally safe.

Distinctives

Equipping your child in academic excellence

At this stage of growth, you’ll witness your child balance more responsibilities — as they learn complex subjects, manage their time, and become increasingly independent in their roles at home and school. You want to find an environment that will give your child the strong academic start they need for success today and their next steps toward middle school.

At EHCS, your child will experience a robust curriculum that provides a deep understanding and application of core subjects, including:

  • Math
  • Reading
  • English
  • Spelling
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Handwriting
  • Bible
Beyond core subjects, students branch out to explore daily specials, such as:
  • Music
  • Library
  • Spanish
  • Chapel
  • Computer
  • PE

“For the first time, my son is excited about going to school daily. I love the family atmosphere he shares with his classmates. The faculty makes this school complete with constant support and innovative ways to engage the students. This school is focused on sharing God’s word and doing what is best for the students.”

A learning approach that engages every student

Part of our approach to teaching elementary schoolers is providing engaging, hands-on experiences to help in the mastery of core subjects. Your child will become part of reading groups, where they’ll enjoy sharing their thoughts about the learning material. Dynamic assessments, such as oral and written tests, are blended throughout the lesson plan, to ensure students have a firm grasp of every lesson.

Students are nurtured through fun STEM projects and science fairs, whether they are building a house model, observing plant life, or collaborating with classmates to devise a solution for a scientific problem.

Technology is intentionally used within the classroom, with projectors to show media, and Kindle e-readers for e-books and educational games. Teachers also provide dedicated time for elementary schoolers to develop computer skills.

A community that learns and grows together

At EHCS, your child will be in an atmosphere that blends learning with fun and friendships. They’ll have the opportunity to join clubs and activities such as Reading Club, Accelerated Reader Program, Pep Squad, Developmental Basketball League, Running Club, and school-wide events, including cookouts, games, Thanksgiving Feast, field days, and more.
